Las Vegas NM Wedding Photographer | The Historic Serf Theater Our Lady Of Sorrows

Last weekend I traveled for another destination wedding, this time the destination was Las Vegas New Mexico. The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Sorrows, a beautiful red sandstone church that is on the National Register of Historic Places. The church also has a pipe organ dating back to 1885. A traditional Catholic ceremony was held at Our Lady of Sorrows, followed by a fun reception at The Historic Serf Theatre Hall.

Before the reception we took pictures at the Montezuma Castle. The castle is on the campus of the United World College. It’s a 90,000 sq ft, 400 room Queen Ann style castle that has been historically renovated and is used today as dining living and recreational facilities.

An event at The Historic Serf Theatre hall is a unique experience. The reception was full of life and fun! A live band played from the stage, and the guests were treated to quite a night. The theatre is over 80 years old, and was renovated carefully in 2012 to hold different events from weddings to live music concerts. The marquee out from was changed to show the bride and groom’s names, and the words “Today and Forever”.

The hall was decorated in the bride’s color, teal. There were touches of her color everywhere! The Father-Daughter dance started out sweet and slow, and ended up in a choreographed hip-hop dance. Such a fun way to put your own spin on a tradition.
