Albuquerque Wedding Photographer | Sandia Resort and Casino
Last weekend I shot the intimate wedding of Alan and Lauren. Alan and I went to middle and high school together here in Albuquerque, so when he called and inquired about wedding photography, I was thrilled to help out. I hadn’t met Lauren yet, but found her to be just as lovely as Alan said she was.
Their ceremony and reception were held in the Hummingbird room at Sandia Resort and Casino. Lauren and Alan live in Pennsylvania but had chosen to get married here, where most of Alan’s family live. They met 10 years ago, and recently got engaged at the top of the Sandia mountains.
The ceremony was short and sweet, and very special, with intimate touches throughout. Lauren and Alan chose to forego the bridal party, and instead stood alone with their friend who lovingly officiated the ceremony. The bride’s bouquet and groom’s boutonniere were made of succulents and peonies, with berries as accents. I also loved Lauren’s dress. It was classically elegant.
A unique picture they wanted to make sure they had was, a picture of all of their friends and family who had traveled for their wedding. We used the Sandia mountains as the backdrop to their pictures. The mountains gave us that yummy sunset desert light that we love.
At the cocktail hour they had hors d’oeuvres outside, then moved inside where different carving stations awaited their guests. After dinner the dancing began. The bride and groom, and their guests danced the night away. The groom was even picked up by his childhood best friends, and carried around, much to their amusement.
