Albuquerque Family Photographer |Bosque Headshot Photos

Several weeks ago a friend of mine through FemCity reached out to me for updated headshots and family portraits. Kelly had brought her puppies in for a session, and we got to talking about updating her family pictures as well. It’s important as a mom to do little things for yourself, like keeping your headshots up to date. We do everything for our kids, but we have to remember to take time now and then, to take care of ourselves too.

We met in the Bosque, at the magic hour, and got to taking pictures! Now through September is the perfect time for family portraits. The ground foliage has come in and everything is in bloom. In September it changes slightly when the sunflowers begin to bloom. We love this hour and a half before sunset. It’s how we get that gorgeous backlit glow.

With Kelly’s family, and all of our families, we try to capture candid family photos. We aim to get the playful side of each person, and showcase their individual personality. With each session we will get updated individual portraits of each child, and the sibling groups together. We also like to get mom, or dad, with each child, and the whole group together. I loved seeing how much each of Kelly’s children loves each other. They were so sweet with one another.

In June the cotton from the Cottonwood trees is flying around and looks reminiscent of snow in the colder months. This made for a truly special session. I’m grateful that I was able to help a friend capture priceless memories of her sweet family, and update her own headshots.
