Albuquerque Event Photographer | Baby Shower ABQ Art Museum

Saturday March 3rd winter clung unrelenting to the skies, but inside the Albuquerque Museum, a sunny ‘What Will it Bee’ baby shower radiated warmth and love. Albuquerque has wonderful venues, like the art museum, for all of your needs. I’ve also enjoyed shooting at the nearby Hotel Albuquerque.

The expectant couple has decided to not find out the gender of baby, so the theme ‘What Will it Bee’, was a sweet yellow and honeybee theme. The theme continued from the moment the guests walked through the front door, all the way through the day. Tables were covered in white and black striped runners, and yellow flower arrangements that included lilies , roses, sunflowers, and a glittering bee pin that rose up from the flowers. The favors were elaborately decorated sugar cookies with flying honeybees, white and yellow honeycomb and chevron stripes, and a different cookie with the message, ‘sweet ba-bee’ carefully piped.

Mom to be was resplendent in a golden and yellow traditional Saree, dad in a fitted dark suit and ‘Daddy’ pin. The numerous guests enjoyed several traditional blessings for baby and mom,  and games.  Bingo, guess how many honeycombs are in the jar, guess how big mom’s belly is, and a few more games were enjoyed by everyone.

A beautiful traditional Indian lunch was served with both appetizers and several choices for the main course. Mom-osas were also a hit (a virgin take on the classic mimosa)!
