Albuquerque Wedding Photographer | St. Joseph’s on The Rio Grande
This last weekend’s wedding celebration will be one for the history books. I captured the wedding of Margy and Dominic, both Friday and Saturday. Friday was the intimate, official, wedding ceremony at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande. (Sneak peeking this portion of their wedding first!) While Saturday was the outdoor wedding and reception at Dominic’s parent’s house. The Friday ceremony was lovely and traditional with two bridesmaids (the maid of honor and Margy’s sister), and the best man in attendance. This special couple also chose to incorporate the lasso rosary in their ceremony, an older Catholic tradition, where the couple is surrounded by a large rosary, binding them together.
Saturday we arrived at 2:00pm to Dominic’s parent’s house, where the festivities would soon be underway. The bridal party was treated to several special gifts. Light pink, grey and green monogrammed robes were waiting for the bridal party to change into, monogrammed Yeti wine glasses (which had been given to everyone at the bachelorette party). All of the bridesmaids were also treated to bracelets from Kendra Scott, and the MOH and the bride’s sister received necklaces as well.
Outside, the ceremony was draped in white fabric and a floral arch for the couple to be married under. 6 attendants on either side, and two flowers girl and ring bearers completed the wedding party. Margy stunned, both days, in a designer gown from Dressing Room West in Santa Fe. After the wedding, guests relaxed at cocktail tables topped with glass terrariums and 2 signature cocktails. The lavender margarita was a big hit! Margy and Dominic were able to mingle with their guests during the cocktail hour.
The reception was held under a massive white tent. Dinner, dancing and toasts all fit underneath. Scarpas catered the event with several different pastas and salads. The 5 piece live band, Diamond Empire played a variety of music all night long. Signature touches could be seen throughout the day. Three kinds of fresh popcorn were being popped, and monogrammed cups were distributed for the guests to take home.
A fun touch was the selfie booth. A Polaroid snapshot camera was used, and a photo album was present for guests to stick their pictures in. The bride and groom would get to look back later at all of the wonderful memories from their weekend.
