Albuquerque Wedding Photographer | Church of Good Shepherd
I took engagement pictures of these two lovely ladies last Fall, and just last weekend had the pleasure of photographing their wedding. Charlene and Emily met in college in Silver City New Mexico, and had a few classes together. After Emily moved back to Albuquerque they lost touch, but stayed connected through social media sites. After a Harry Potter reference sparked a connection, they started talking every day. They became engaged in April of 2016 after Charlene popped the question.
The ceremony and reception took place at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Albuquerque. After the ceremony we went outside for a few more intimate shots.
This couple had a sweet take on the traditional dances at a wedding. They did an anniversary dance. What happens for this dance is, the DJ calls all couples who are married onto the floor. Everyone starts dancing. Thirty seconds or so into the song, the DJ will ask that people who have been married less than 5 hours (the new couple) to leave the dance floor. The dancing continues, and soon the DJ will ask all couples who have been married less than 2 years, then 5 years, on and on until there is only one couple left on the floor. They will be the couple that has been married the longest. The DJ will then bring the newly married couple back onto the floor, and ask the couple who has been married the longest for any advice for the new couple. It’s a sweet dance, and a new tradition that we’re glad to see taking hold.
