As a photographer, every client is special to me. They put their trust in me to capture life’s special moments. It means the world to me that they support me and my business. Certain clients, however, hold an extra special place in my heart. It may be because of their story, or that we click and become lifelong friends, or it may be the timing of when they become a part of my photography journey.

Jessica reached out to me in response to my first model call for newborns two years ago. Her first born, Baby H, was my very first newborn model. Special, indeed. Not only that, Jessica and I have remained friends over the years, and I just think she is amazing! Their family will always hold one of those extra special places in my heart. So of course I was just thrilled when Jessica let me know that they were expecting their second and booked a newborn session.

Baby H became a big brother 5 weeks earlier than expected when sweet little Baby V made her early entrance. Because she was early, Baby V had to spend some time in the NICU. Thanks to the amazing doctors and NICU nurses, Baby V grew and has flourished! Baby V was 5 weeks old when we did her session and technically outside of the newborn photographer’s happy place for newborns of 2 weeks and under. But Baby V’s adjusted age was only a couple of days old. Preemies can often be more sensitive to touch because they have become accustomed to being poked and prodded more than the full term newbie. But Baby V was good to me, and we were able to get so many sweet images. She is just perfect with her gorgeous head of hair, flaky skin, and cracked lips.
